About Regional Science City, Lucknow
Regional Science City, Lucknow is a vibrant centre of scientific learning and exploration. It is a constituent unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) functioning under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Originally established as the Regional Science Centre in 1989, the facility was later upgraded to its present status of “Regional Science City” with the addition of world-class facilities such as the Scimax Theatre, 3D shows, and a Marine & Freshwater Aquarium, inaugurated on 21 September 2007. Since its inauguration, the Centre has drawn students, educators, and visitors in large numbers, offering an exciting space where science comes alive through hands-on, playful, and engaging learning. Spread across a lush 10-acre campus in Aliganj Extension (Sector E, Ekta Vihar), the center brings together an inspiring blend of interactive galleries, outdoor science exhibits, immersive shows, and activity zones all designed to nurture curiosity, ignite creativity, and promote scientific temper among visitors of all ages.
Various galleries offer engaging experiences covering diverse scientific themes. A SciMax Theatre, and a sprawling Science & Prehistoric Park, Regional Science City offers an enriching environment where learning becomes an exciting experience. From hands-on exhibits and live demonstrations to astronomy sessions and educational workshops, every visit opens the door to discovery, exploration, and awe.
